Polar Plunge in Big Bear CA Fundraiser for Special Olympics

Big Bear Sports and Events.

Run into Big Bear Lake's chilly waters on March 9, 2013 to raise funds for Special Olympics Inland Empire athletes. For just a minimum of $50, you can participate in the coolest event of 2013 — the Polar Plunge. Not only will you brave the cold waters, but you'll have the opportunity to earn incentives, party with friends, and support Special Olympics.

The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and basically anyone to support individuals with intellectual disabilities by jumping (or pretending to jump) into the chilly waters at Big Bear Lake.

A few hundred people are expected to weather the cold and plunge into 36 degree waters to support Special Olympics athletes on March 9, 2013.

  • Each participant who raises a minimum of $50 gets a T-shirt and can enjoy the festivities (either by taking the plunge or watching from the "Chicken Coop"). Raise more than $50, and you will have the opportunity to earn prizes. Register today
  • Check-In: 10 a.m.
