Have You Updated Your ActiveRain Profile Yet?
Yesterday ActiveRain's Bob Stewart held an informative webinar regarding how to update our profiles. It was very informative and plus it got me motivated to find the time to actually work on it. Kerrie was there to give us all the links and some important specifics about the site. All in all, it was a very good hour and here is a summary of what I got from the webinar.
Change your Header Picture: Must be 600X200 or larger. It defaults as nice blue and white clouds. I changed mine to some California Poppies. Try a couple of different pictures until you get the one you like.
Here is the new header.
Your Name: Make sure your First and Last name in the profile do not have tags in the slots. There is a place below to add tags. Bob said this is so important if you want Google to find you.
Update your Google+ Link: Most of the links transferred over correctly but Google+ did not so you need to go into Google +, go to profile and you will see your URL in the browser. Just copy all from the beginning through the numbers but leave the </posts> off the link.
Service Areas: You now have up to 8 areas so make sure your update this immediately.
Update your Expertise and Awards: Some of mine transferred over but if it didn't you can find apost in your drafts "Update your Profile" and it will have your old profile there.
Referral Section: This is where you need to look in your drafts to update this section. For each one, you must add a date so perhaps the date it closed escrow. Just don't worry as they are safely tucked away in your draft post. i was really glad as I do not keep them separate....but I might now.
Colors: Bob asked us about the bright orange box and many said they prefered to have a choice of color. So they may pick an array of colors for us to update to new colors. That will be a great choice. Perhps you should all email Bob and let him know what you want regarding colors?
Now, it is not all the way done, but I am getting there. Hope you are all working on yours as it should help us get better SEO. Happy Editing. Last night while leaving comments, many agents had their profiles all updated and it looks very nice.
