🎂 With Modern Technology, you Cannot Forget or Hide Your Birthday Even if you Try
In the past, we would normally get a few birthday cards in the mail or your friends at work would plan to take you out for for lunch on your special day.
But this month I had a few surprises and thought I would mention some of my surprises. First of all my bank, who has been my bank since I was 16 years old, wished me a 'Happy Birthday' last week. I went to the ATM machine and after logging on, the screen showed a big birthday cake and said "Happy Birthday Kristin" which surprised me and I said out loud "What...how nice". Funny thing, there was a customer waiting behind me and I wonder what she thought. Just before I logged out and took my card, it wished me Happy Birthday again. I know that the bank has my personal information but it was a nice surprise.
I have a Facebook account and several Realtor pages, so between yesterday and today, I have had many pictures, email cards, virtual candy and flowers and well wishes on my page. It is always nice to hear from friends and co-workers and a few were great surprises.
This morning I had to look up an address so I went to the 'Google' site and to my surprise, there was a cake and presents on the search screen and when I touched the cursor, it said "Happy Birthday Kristin".
I opened up my email, and there were 4 or 5 emails from the stores and restaurants I eat/shop at and they all had 'Happy Birthday specials today on my birthday'.
While sitting in a seminar this morning (yes I still worked today), I looked on my Facebook app on my iPad and there on the Keller Williams Redlands page, there was a picture of me and a red velvet cupcake. Yummy as red velvet is my favorite and 'no calories' for virtual cakes.
And I stopped by my Board of Realtors as I walked in the door they wished me a Happy Birthday. What I didn't realize that they had already sent me an email greeting a few hours before.
The Brown Bag Lunch with our Attorney had many friends and co-workers from my former brokerage and some members of Women's Council of Realtors too. They were all wishing me a Happy Birthday.
The point here is that our birthdates are programed into their software and generates a birthday greeting so if you are wanting to forget or hide your birthday from others, it is probably going to be hard.
Social Media is a nice way to remember all of your relatives, friends and co-workers. Plus I have a program I subscribe to called Birthday Alarms and it sends you email alerts and you can pick cards to send out. It is a special way to remember others.
Oh, I almost forgot when I woke up this morning I had a text on my phone from one of my kids wishing me a 'Happy Birthday'. She is in a different time zone so it was just waiting for me when I turned on my phone.
♥Here is a special Birthday Photo from Angel, my friend's pet bird Angel. Joyce Dodd has a Bird Rescue and has shows with her 6 performing birds. Angel here is her special girl.
Tonight, my husband is taking me to a nice restaurant and this establishment sent me a postcard last week asking me to come in and have a dessert on them to celebrate this month. We always go there on my birthday so the postcard was just icing on the cake!
🎂So do not try to hide your birthday as everyone will find out. Just enjoy it and eat cake.
