FREE 10,000 Turkeys for Thanksgiving Donated by Morongo Indian Tribe

It was announced this week that the Morongo Indian Tribe is donating 10,000 turkeys to help families, seniors and veterans so that they will have a wonderful Thanksgiving meal next week.

East Valley Association of Realtors is receiving 1,250 turkeys and the local Realtors are passing them out at 3 locations this week.

1. Habitat for Humanity 25948 Business Center Drive, Redlands on Saturday Nov 17th from 8:30 am - until gone.

2. East Valley Assoc of Realtors 12592 California Street/ Avenue C in Yucaipa is passing out 450 turkeys on Monday Nov 19th from 8:30 am - until gone.

3. Beaumont Civic Center on 1310 Oak Valley Parkway is giving away 250 turkeys on Tuesday at 8:30 am.

Morongo Indian Tribe Giving 10,000 Turkeys to Local Charities for Thanksgiving 2012

The rest of the turkeys are being handed out to 113 different charities in the Inland Empire, the desert area, Riverside and Los Angeles. It is a combined project of The Morongo Indian Tribe to make sure everyone has a great Thanksgiving and that no one is hungry.

The Banning tribe last year gave out 7,000 turkeys and this is the 27th year they have given to the local charities. It is their intent to give back to the communities in this area.

*I have helped pass out turkeys for the past few years and the lines seem to be getting longer. Be sure to come early and get in line at the 3 above locations. Turkeys are passed out to the adults in the line.

Always great to hear these stories this time of year.  And the Morongo Tribe is very generous.

Hi Kwee, Yes 10,000 turkeys will really help and today they sent out an email for all of us Realtors to each bring a bag of potatoes too. Have to run to the store tomorrow. **Funny, while I was leaving a comment on your post, you were leaving one on mine. Great minds think alike!

How nice that they can do this, and I hope everyone who needs a turkey will get one... and bag of potatoes too!  Thanks for helping with the  project.

Hi Georgina,

We did the first give-away this morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Habitat for Humanity building. We gave 7 potatoes, a can of peas, 2 cans of corn, 1 pkg of dressing, and of course the huge 25-30 lb turkey. We gave away to 440 families so everything that was left over will go to the Yucaipa location on Monday. It was fun to help and be a part of this. Our association did fundraisers all year to be able to get the food for 1250 families to go with the turkeys that were so kindly donated to us.

I am looking forward to helping at the Yucaipa location Monday too. Thanks for stopping by Georgina!
