She Works Hard for Her Money

2013 Song Theme Challenge - She Works Hard for Her Money

Earlier in my real estate career, sales were fast and ample buyers and sellers. Then the market collapsed and I turned my focus on Foreclosed Homes but now the market has improved and short sales are the focus so I work hard for my clients to get every short sale closed.

Working with the owners of underwater homes can be difficult as they are scared and usually emoitional and want to trust their Realtor but are afraid that the bank or banks will not cooperate. I am careful not to make promises until I can get a feel from the bank.

Many hours of emails, supplying documents over and over and giving support to the homeowners is all part of the short sale process but when we recieve the email letter that says "The bank has approved your short sale" is when I do the happy dance around my office and call my clients on the phone and give them the good news (no emails for this news). Then I call the agent on the other side and they do the happy dance too.

This song "She Works Hard for Her Money" reminds me of my short sale experiences as it is a lot of hard work but I wait for the "Thank You" when it closes and it is all worth the time. I love short sales and working with homeowners. Donna Summers works hard singing this song and it reminds me of the turmoil of a short sale transaction.

Oh, Girl...I so agree with you. Spent time this afternoon putting together a purchase contract for buyers, and they decided at the last minute they want to look at other houses.

Hi Debbie,

Don't you love it. But in the long run it is better to keep looking then to pull out half way through escrow and who do they blame? Yep, it is the Realtors fault. Most clients are wonderful and I can only think of one difficult buyer I had and he is still looking.

Hi Endre,

I used to hate them but seeing the homeowners face when they are closed is payment enough for me. I have found my true calling in short sales.

Kristin, I can so realate to this as I have managed and closed many short sales over the past few years.  Working hard sometimes does not even truly sum up the blood, sweat and tears that go into doing short sales.  It is worth it to get the approval, close the sales and the best part ... helping the homeowner in need.

Thank you for participating in this challenge.

Hi Kathleen,

You summed it up perfectly. i had two in 2007 that the lenders foreclosed on but since then they have accepted the fact that homeowners were not to blame and work with us Realtors to close them successfully. I am grateful for the banks help or we would never get them closed.

I admire you who work with short sales. To say you work hard for your money is an understatement.

Hi Kristin, I love your song selection, and my hat's off to anyone who works with Short Sales. Yes, You do "Work very Hard for your Money"!

Hi Lottie,

I love hard work and paperwork. I was government trained and their was a form in triplicate for everything. I never use TC's as I am very strict with my file and love the paperwork. Short Sales are greater but the hug and smile when I get their escrow closed is the best part.

Hi Jerry,

There are several banks that scare me but I dive right in and even when they ignore me, I keep coming back until they respond and accept the offer.
