Take the Challenge*National Unplug Day March 6th-7th @6pm.

Can you unplug for 24 hours? Turn off your cell phones, computers, and iPads. Do you have BlueTooth in your car so you never miss a call while driving? Do you take your computer on your vacation? Go to the beach with your iPad?

Can you stay off the social media sites from tonight at 6:00pm until tomorrow night? 24 hours.....can you do it.

Here is the site where you can register if you want and even post a picture but you must do it before 6:00 pm.

Can you do this? I saw it on the network news this morning and recall they all said they could not unplug. The newscasters said they could not turn off their devices as it is an important part of their job.

Unplug Tonight at 6:00 pm? Do you feel these electronic devices are consuming your life or it is just the way to live and do business.

Are these devises unhealthy? Some experts say these devices are unhealthy and clog your brain. Do you add numbers in your head or do you use a calculator?

Please leave a comment below! If you can unplug, what will you do instead? Shopping, Reading, take a long drive, go visit some friends/family, clean house or take a long nap.

Hi Kristin, It sure will be interesting to see how many or how few can actually do this. If I had realized it earlier, I probably would have done it. As it is, I am still leaving comments and need to catch up on blog posts,

I cannot unplug THIS weekend Kristin Hamilton CA Realtor  as our gandson is with us, wife is going shopping and needs communication and our son is going to ask his fiancee of 7 years for her hand in marriage! I could imagine if we HAD to disconnect!  One year we went to Kauai, where my wife grew up and we stayed at Princeville for 5 nights where there was no phone, no cel tower connection, no TV.  MOST of the activity was at the beach and eating!

Hi William Johnson

I try to turn off during the weekends sometimes but when I get up or before bed I have to check my email and blog.

Hi Bruce Hicks

You have a lot going on this weekend and it would drive you nuts to unplug. I have to meet with clients tomorrow and print a document so there goes my plan.

Interesting idea Kristin, far too many people relying on me to unplug this month.

Well I guess you can see that I could not un-plug from any of my devices. I am too addicted.

Hi Bob Crane

We all should unplug but so hard. I get so many dirty looks while on vacation from my family. I once was walking to a volcano in Guadamala and my phone rang. Hadn't had service in days even though we paid for it. I answered it and it was a real estate agent showing my property up in Lake Arrowhead. I laughed that that call got through. I said "Send me an offer".

Hi Sussie Sutton

And here I am answering so I didn't unplug either. Ha Ha.

Unplug to recharge. Got it...Looking forward to ....  (someone trips over cord, yanks from the wall socket, sound of static, dead air happens)

Literally thought this was a post on MTV's series!! WOW, what a world we have become where unplugging is now like fasting.

Hi Andrew Mooers

The only time I try to cut back is when I am with my family. I always say to my daughter when she gives me a dirty look that "you sure don't mind spending my income though". I think they are jealous of my real estate business if it is possible to be.

Hi Chris Webb

I like the way you put it in perspective comparing it to "FASTING". I did my part by not going on FB the whole day.

I guess the answer is no. I missed the big event. That would be very hard to give up an iPad for a day.

Hi Cheryl Ritchie

I was up typing a counter at 8:00 am Saturday and scanning it to the other agent after my clients signed it so I couldn't unplug all day either but I did stop at Lowe's and Home Depot and buy some plants and pots and went home and gardened for several hours and enjoyed nature with all the singing birds and buzzing hummingbirds so I guess I passed on internet activity later in the day.
