Enjoying Nature While Holding an Open House

Enjoying Nature While Holding an Open House

Recently I took a new listing in Loma Linda, CA and while setting up, I noticed some beautiful roses that seemed to be in full bloom since the owner had recently trimmed them back.

The rose garden on the side of the house was lovely and made me think how the seller must love flowers and birds just like I do.

A rustic birdhouse which seemed to be a great rest stop for the birds in the neighborhood. Of course when I came outside again with my camera, they all flew away.

A hummingbird was hanging out on a bird feeder on the patio.Lastly, there was an owl in the bushes but wouldn't show himself for a photo. He could see me but I couldn't see him.

Bees were buzzing in the orange and red lantana that almost looked like it was growing wild.

This lizard was a big as it looks in the picture. The tail was so long..............while he was sunning himself on the retaining wall.enjoying nature in loma linda

I love this bird's nest on the patio cover. It is probably an active nest but I probably had scared off any of the residents.

And the really good news is that I had 13 groups show up at my open house and received 3 offers all from that day. We are now in escrow and ready to close.

Being ablet to take in the surroundings during the open house must have been nice.

Yeah that is a lot of nature going on right there with you!

Beautiful photos. I especially liked the bird house. Birds are a sweet spot for me! Congratulations on 3 offers. Your market must be hot, like us in Lane County Oregon.

All the best!  J

Kristin, pretty sure I would hate running into that lizard, but we have lots of bird nests around here.

One of the  last Opens I did was a rural property and a pair of young fawns hung around the yard for better part of the day.   No One showed up to frighten them away.

Hi Chris Ann Cleland

It was a busy time and I kept missing the close ups of the hummingbird.

Hi David Shamansky

It is such a lovely area in Loma Linda and full of animals and birds. The neighbor told me they had a family of raccoons.

Hi Jan Sohlman

Yes Loma Linda is hot and this is a newer, large home, but one great feature is it is a single story and that is what people want. I adore birds; backyard and raptors the best but find myself pulling over when I see ducks and egrets too. My sellers little birdhouse is cute on the tall pole. I sure wished I could have spotted the owl but he could see me. Your dog is adorable. Is it a terrier?

Hi Joan Cox

I am not afraid of lizards but absolutely hate snakes. Aren't birdnests fun to watch.

Hi William Feela

How exciting to have a pair of fawns. Sometimes it is more fun to enjoy the scenery than have guests arrive at the open house. I like to have a little of both.

Beautful photos.  The colors are so vivid.
I love the seller's wind charm also.

LOL! I have done the same thing. But that's only because we are so rural that we rarely have visitors to an open house so I have to have something to do! :) I know they work in the city, but not out here.

Hi Karen Winters

I really liked it too and wondered where she bought it. My hummingbirds would like it.

Hi Joni Staples

I can see that their might not be as many guests at an open house in the rural areas. Like Roy says "Don't forget your camera" and we also have our smart phones too.

Thanks for sharing your photographs. It is so easy to miss the beauty of nature that surrounds us.

Have a great day and an outstanding weekend.

You had a perfect day. What more could you ask for? I would love to have roses. We tried a few years ago but the deer ate them.

Kristin, I enjoyed all your pictures. Your client's rose garden is wonderful and they miss this garden when they move. Lucky new owner as this home outside has a lot to offer.

What a treat to have during an Open House.  All those sights, to enchant and entertain you!

Hi Roy Kelley

We all seem to get caught up in the moment and hard to find time to just enjoy our surroundings. I never used to look at nature until I found a love and appreciation for it. This backyard where my open house was had so many variety of birds and the sounds were beautiful.

Hi Donna Foerster

Made me laugh when you told me that the deer ate them. I love to find little Bambi's running around in the area but glad they do not try to eat my petunias in the front yard.

Hi Robert (Bob) Gilbert

I am sure my seller will miss her rose garden. I feel the love when I walk through there. I am guessing the birds miss her too.

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat

It truly was one of the nicest I have had in a long time.

Sounds like nature had its own 'open house' that same day. It's amazing how much life is so close to us if we just stop to take a look.
